OpenCode Go Billing: Quota, Invoices, and How to Cancel

There is an asymmetry in OpenCode Go: the usage limits are published, and the administrative side — what tax document it issues, how a refund works, when cancellation cuts access — is barely on any public page.

This page separates the two. What is confirmed comes from the Go documentation, reviewed on September 29, 2026. The rest you have to read in your console. I would rather say "this is not published" than invent a policy about your money.

What is confirmed

The price

• Go: $10 a month, including the first charge.
• Go Plus: $40 a month.

There is no longer a $5 first month. The referral program has ended: a link to opencode.ai/go does not credit the person who signs up or the person who shared it. It is the product page.

It is a flat monthly fee, not usage billing. The charge is the same whether you exhaust the quota or never open the terminal. There is no surprise token invoice, and there is no saving for not using it.

The limits are not a balance

Each model has its own monthly cap in dollars. On that cap, the 5-hour window is 20%, the week is 50%, and the month is 100%.

These are ceilings per model and per window, not a wallet for the plan. What you do not consume in five hours does not roll into the afternoon. If you run out of quota mid-afternoon, you filled that model's window, not "the $60 plan."

Go Plus does not multiply every cap by the same number. In the September 29, 2026 table, GLM-5.3-Flash goes from $60 to $180, Kimi K2.6 from $60 to $240, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash from $60 to $120, and Kimi K3 from $15 to $60. The models are the same.

Go, Go Plus, and Zen can be combined

They are not three names for the same thing:

• Go is the $10 subscription, with a quota per model.
• Go Plus is the $40 subscription, same catalog, higher monthly caps.
• Zen is prepaid balance, without Go's windows.

If you exhaust the windows often and want to stay on the same models, the published step up is Go Plus. If what you are missing is a model Go does not include, the path is Zen balance. With Use balance turned on in the console, requests continue against that balance once you hit the Go cap. The comparison is in OpenCode Zen vs Go.

Zen balance does not expire on the five-hour window. Go quota does reset by window, and unused quota does not accumulate.

What you have to check in your console

What follows is not documented in a public, clear way at the time of this update. I am not going to guess the refund policy or the type of tax document. I can tell you what to look at.

Invoices with tax details

The invoice is in the account's billing section. What is not clear on a public page is whether it issues a document with a tax ID, a legal name, and an address, or only a payment receipt.

If you need it to deduct the expense, confirm it before you subscribe. Ten or forty dollars a month looks small until accounting asks for the same detail every month.

Refunds

I have not found a published refund policy for Go. Z.ai, by contrast, says its subscriptions are not refundable once purchased. When a company does not publish one, you cannot assume it returns the money, and you cannot assume it keeps it.

Read your account's terms before you pay if a refund matters to you. The first charge is already $10 on Go, or $40 on Go Plus. There is no $5 trial month that shrinks that risk.

Cancellation: immediate, or at the end of the cycle

You cancel from subscription management. What you have to read in the console is when it cuts off:

• If the cutoff is at the end of the cycle, cancelling today leaves you able to use it until the renewal date.
• If it is immediate, you lose the days you already paid for.

The confirmation screen usually says so. Read it before you accept.

Annual plan, discounts, and codes

There is no public page that confirms an annual plan, gift cards, or promo codes for Go. Be wary of an "OpenCode Go account, already created" on a marketplace: that is the usual path for resold accounts, and you lose the payment method and the recovery email.

Several subscriptions at once

The documentation does say one thing about teams: only one member per workspace can subscribe to Go or to Go Plus. If you need to cover more people, ask support whether it allows several subscriptions under the same payment identity before you buy extra seats. Do not take it as given.

Questions I can answer in one line

• Do I need powerful hardware? No. The models run in the cloud.
• Does paying more get me better models? Go Plus, at $40, uses the same models as Go. What goes up is each model's monthly cap, and not by the same proportion.
• Is the first-month charge $5 or $10? Ten, on Go. Forty, if you choose Go Plus. The $5 charge no longer exists.
• Can Go be used with agents other than OpenCode? It is meant for OpenCode and for other coding agents with similar traffic. The documentation publishes a list of validated clients and another of clients with session problems. Check it before you assume yours is included.

How to decide on renewal without guessing

The first cycle is no longer a $5 trial. It is a month at $10, or at $40 if you enter through Go Plus. In that cycle, do three things:

1. Work the way you always work, and see whether you hit the 5-hour window of the model you actually use.
2. Open billing and see what document it issues, before accounting asks for it.
3. Read the cancellation screen without cancelling.

If all three work for you, renewing is a decision with data. If not, you cancel knowing the charge you already made and the date it cuts off.
