What is confirmed

The price

• 5 dollars the first month
• 10 dollars a month from the second month

It is a flat monthly fee, not usage billing. That has an implication people sometimes miss: the charge is identical whether you exhaust your quota or never open the terminal for 30 days. Unlike a pay-per-use API there is no surprise invoice here, but there is also no saving for not using it.

The limits are not a balance

This is the most expensive confusion and it needs to be clear before we talk about credits.

OpenCode Go applies limits based on the estimated value of the requests you process, and per time window:

Per month	60 dollars of usage

These are ceilings per window, not a wallet. What you do not consume in the 5-hour window does not accumulate into the next one. If you run dry mid-afternoon, you hit the 5-hour ceiling, not the monthly one.

The referral credit is quota, not money

If you sign up through a referral link, you get 5 dollars of credit applied directly to your usage limits. Worth understanding properly because it gets misread in both directions:

• It is not a discount on your payment method.
• It is additional quota added to what you can consume.

Since the first month already costs 5 dollars, in practice the credit covers almost the entire start. It is the cheapest way to see whether the limits fit how you work before paying the 10 for month two.

Go and Zen can be combined

They are not alternative plans, they are different pieces:

• Go is the 10-dollar subscription with per-window caps.
• Zen is prepaid pay-per-use balance, without Go's windows.

The recommended pattern if you exhaust the windows often is to have both: Go as the base and Zen as a safety net for when quota runs out halfway through a task. The full comparison is in OpenCode Zen vs Go.

What you have to check in your console

Here I will be explicit: the following is not clearly documented publicly at the time of writing. I am not going to guess a company's policy about your money. What I can give you is the exact list of what to ask and where.

Tax-compliant invoices

The invoice lives in your account's billing section. What is not publicly clear is whether it issues a full tax document — with tax ID, legal entity name, address — or just a payment receipt.

If you need it to deduct the expense, confirm it before subscribing, not after. For a 10-dollar-a-month subscription that may sound irrelevant, but if it goes through your accounting, a receipt without tax details is a recurring administrative problem.

Refunds

I have not found a published refund policy. Compare that with Z.ai, which does openly state that its subscriptions are non-refundable once purchased: when a company does not say, you cannot assume either answer.

Check your account's terms of service before paying if refunds matter to you. That said, the real exposure is low: it is 5 dollars the first month, which is precisely why the trial month exists.

Cancellation: immediate or end of cycle

You cancel from subscription management in your account. What you need to verify in your console is when it takes effect:

• If the cut is at end of cycle, cancelling today lets you use it until the renewal date.
• If it is immediate, you lose the days you already paid for.

The difference matters if you cancel on day 3 of a month you already paid. The console usually says so on the confirmation screen: read that screen instead of assuming.

Annual plan, discounts and promo codes

There is no public information confirming an annual plan, gift cards or promo codes for OpenCode Go. At 10 dollars a month, an annual plan would not deliver a large saving anyway.

If someone offers you a ready-made "OpenCode Go account" on a marketplace, be suspicious: that is the standard channel for resold accounts, and you lose control of the payment method and recovery email to save a few dollars.

Multiple subscriptions at once

If you need to cover a team, this is the right question to ask support before buying rather than after: whether multiple subscriptions are allowed under the same payment identity, and whether any team arrangement exists.

Questions I can answer in one line

• Do I need powerful hardware? No. The models run in the cloud.
• Does paying more get me better models? There is no higher Go tier: the 10 dollars give access to the plan's set of open models. What runs out is quota, not the catalog.
• Is the first charge 5 or 10? Five. The 10 starts in month two.
• Can I use Go with agents other than OpenCode? It works as a provider inside OpenCode and can be used with other compatible agents.

How to avoid the whole problem

The simplest way to never fight this subscription's admin side is to treat the first month as what it is: a 5-dollar trial with 5 more in credit.

In that month, do three things:

1. Work the way you normally work and see whether you collide with the 5-hour window.
2. Go into the billing section and look at the document it issues, before it matters.
3. Read the cancellation screen without cancelling, so you know in advance which of the two behaviors it has.

If all three check out, renewing at 10 dollars is an informed decision. If not, you cancel having spent five dollars.
